The course

Composite bonding combines clinical judgement, technical control and an artistic understanding of natural tooth form. This course brings those elements together in a practical, small-group format.
There are no gimmicks and no unnecessary complexity. Rather than racing through endless techniques, Pete concentrates on the details that matter most: smile design, shape and proportion, symmetry and balance, line angles, anatomy, texture, contour, finishing and polish.
You will practise on individual teeth and then complete a full upper canine-to-canine exercise, with live demonstrations, hands-on guidance and honest feedback throughout. The aim is not to copy one rigid style. It is to understand the workflow well enough to create balanced, natural-looking smiles and develop your own.

Starting your composite-bonding journey
The Foundation Course is designed for foundation dentists, dental therapists and dentists who want to introduce composite bonding into everyday practice. You will work through a clear placement- and-shaping sequence, reliable finishing and polishing techniques, and the key principles of smile design.
By the end of the course, you should have a stronger technical and artistic foundation and a practical framework you can take back into practice.
Already placing composite
Composite bonding is a broad subject, and small refinements can make a significant difference. More experienced clinicians can use the course to revisit the fundamentals and sharpen details such as tooth shape, proportion, line angles, surface anatomy, texture, finishing and polish.
Pete’s teaching is built around practical adjustments developed through years of clinical use — techniques intended to be useful the next working day rather than requiring a complete change of approach.
What you will learn
A practical 3–3 workflow from planning to polish
- Apply the core principles of smile design, tooth shape, proportion, symmetry and balance.
- Understand how patient expectations and case selection shape an appropriate treatment plan.
- Use a clear sequence for composite placement and shaping across central incisors, lateral incisors and canines.
- Develop line angles, secondary anatomy, contour, surface texture and tertiary detail more deliberately.
- Complete a full upper canine-to-canine practical exercise and understand how each tooth contributes to the smile.
- Improve finishing and polishing so restorations look natural rather than overworked or artificial.
- Use clinical photography more consistently and review the details that influence the final result.
- Approach repairs, alterations and maintenance with a clearer framework.
- Leave with simplified, repeatable protocols intended to reduce stress and improve consistency in practice.

Techniques shaped in real clinical practice
Pete’s teaching is drawn from more than two decades of clinical dentistry and years of refining composite-bonding workflows in everyday private practice. The course uses real clinical cases to show how decisions around proportion, symmetry, line angles, texture, contour and finishing affect the final smile.

Two days
Course itinerary
Day one registration 8:30–9:00am; teaching finishes approximately 5:00–5:30pm; drinks from 6:00pm. Day two runs 9:00am – approximately 5:00pm.

Registration is from 8:30am to 9:00am. The morning covers smile design, equipment and materials, Pete’s practical philosophy, placement and shaping protocols, polishing, a live central-incisor demonstration, five approaches to surface texture and a hands-on single central incisor.
During the afternoon, delegates create a pair of central incisors hands-on. Teaching finishes at approximately 5:00–5:30pm, with drinks after the course from 6:00pm.

Meet Dr Pete
Practical teaching from a clinician who uses these techniques every day
Dr Pete Niesiolowski graduated from King’s College London in 1997 and has worked in general and private dentistry throughout his career. For more than 20 years, his clinical work has focused heavily on private cosmetic dentistry, with composite bonding becoming a major part of his daily practice.
Everything on the course is taught from practical experience: real cases, repeated refinements, lessons learned and a strong belief in doing the fundamentals well the first time. Pete’s approach is to make composite bonding simpler, more efficient and more repeatable without losing the artistic detail that creates a natural result.
